THE BIBLE AND YOUR BUSINESS!

THE BIBLE AND YOUR BUSINESS,  DO THEY AGREE?

When one thinks of these two title they are often seen in contrast with each other from both the Christian and Non-Christian alike.  There is a number of reason for this perception and in these blog post I hope to shine some light on this on-going subject matter.
The first thing that I want to point to is that many have made a real mockery of the word integrity in the business industry no matter what specific business he or she is in that word seems to be totally eliminated from their business operations.  Most are only in it for all that they can get out of it regardless of what the cost it is to them and to others.  When it comes to making money people will do almost anything whether it be right or wrong is not a consideration on their part.  It they think that they can get away with it they'll do it.  If it hurts others and cost them a fortune with no return they'll do it.  If it goes completely against what they learn in church every Sunday they'll do it.  All for the love of money.  This is the single most reason that the Business world is so corrupt today. Over the pass 30 years I've seen the dark side of this several time.  So, with that being said how do you balance your Business with the Bible and what does the Bible say about Business?
Before I get into that I'd like to address what the Bible say about prosperity.  Does God agree with Christian prospering in Business? The short answer to this question is Yes.  Now, we can look at the scripture in
III John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth".
Joshua 1:8 says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate herein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Deut. 8:18 says "But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day".
From the Bible we clearly see that God wants us to prosper and in fact gives us the power to do so.  However, there are warnings to those  would be rich.  See, the word of God also let's us know that it's in vain to be rich apart from the bible perspective of rich both in the natural and spiritual. Notice more teaching of God word.
I Timothy 6:9-10  "But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10- For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Matt. 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
It is clear that God wants us to prosper but not at any cost.  This is where many have failed in the business world. Your business should  always operate within the principals of the Bible. That means "honesty".  When we allow greed and lust to control us we will do whatever we believe that we can get away with regardless of who it hurts in the process.  The business man or woman must be committed to the the Lordship of Jesus Christ  in order to keep integrity as the driving principal of their Business.  We should always be directed by God's Word in all of our Business practices. With all the temptations in the world today the Businessman or Woman must adhere to God's Word in their own Daily Lives and Activities if they are ever to be honest in their dealings with others.
For the Christian it can't be just about making money. If so, this will lead to the "love of Money" and eliminate all the Godly principals from ones life.  Money Itself is not "evil or good". It can and is used to do both.  Many use money to do evil things and promote their causes while some use money to do good and promote the cause of Christ.  So, it's not the money that is good or evil, it's the one using it.

God has a purpose for wealth in the lives of Christians and it's not so that they can store it up in some bank.  the purpose for Wealth in the Christian's Life is to be of help to others and to promote or sponsor the cause of Christ in the Earth.  We should be reminded of the Word that says "We bought nothing into this world and we shall carry nothing out of it".(paraphrased).  So, let's not be like the man in the Bible that after having his barn full, he decided to tear down that barn and build bigger barns for his riches.  Having done so his soul was required that night and he never did any good with his money.
The key here is to not fall in love with money and allow it to be your motivation.  But rather remain steadfastly in love with God and use all your resources that He has blessed you with for the cause of Christ and helping others.
"Better is a little with righteousness that a pot of gold with wickedness"
